"Meet my mom, Wendy"
After lots of discussion, debate and consideration, I recently placed my mother into an assisted living facility. She had fallen several times and I feared she would hurt herself when I wasn’t around to help.
Though I live nearby and visit her several times a week, I can’t be with her 24/7 and I know she gets lonely. I also know that after 50 years of independent living, it’s hard to adjust to a new community.
No stuffed animal can solve all those issues – and yet… Sammy was a one-shot souvenir I bought on a weekend business trip to let her know I was thinking about her when we were apart. Now he’s become her "Best Friend" and goes everywhere with her.

As soon as all the other residents saw Sammy, they wanted one of their very own.
This website grew out of a need for me to give my 78 year old mother something to love and to let other adult children know how much simple joy they could bring their own loved one living alone or in an assisted living or eldercare facility.
